TECoolTM
Thermoelectric Cooler
for
Intel and AMD Single/Dual Core
CPUs
After research, Magaland Technology, Inc. found that the most current Intel and AMD have Thermal Dissipation Power from 65W to 100W. From these information, Magaland Technology recently developed three new TECoolTM Thermoelectric Coolers for all of current advanced CPUs, for example, Intel Pentium D Dual-Core, Pentium D, Pentium Extreme P4, Pentium 4, Celeron D CPUs and AMD Athlon 64, Athlon FX, Athlon 64 X2, Opteron and Sempron CPUs.
Features
New TECoolTM Thermoelectric Coolers are using 12V
DC power supply that is very popular voltage output from a PC power supply.
Their cooling power (Qmax) is from 104 W to 138W with 40x40mm size. It is
cost effectively, but very powerful.

Applications
From laboratory experiment, a 10-degree C in CPU/Chip temperature drop equals
3 - 5 MHz speed improvement at the board level. In addition, a 10-degree
C temperature drop results in 2x MTBF improvement. The MTBF of
TECoolTM is greater than 200K hours because it
is solid-state, vibration-free, noise-free, and no moving parts heat pump.
It is a modular device, and is simple to install and operate.

*Some latest CPUs may not listed in the above tables. However, you can find Thermal Dissipation Power [TDP] from CPU manufacturer's website. Then you can select a right TECoolTM for cooling your CPU. Remember, TECoolTM Qmax MUST be greater than CPU maximum [TDP].

Installation
1. The hot side of the TECoolTM must be attached to a suitable high power FAN SINK that is capable of carrying away both the heat pumped by the TECoolTM plus Joule heat from the electric power supplied to the TECoolTM.
2. Care should be taken when applying pressure during installation. Uniform pressure is desired across the mounting surfaces. If uneven pressure is applied, thermal performance may be reduced or damage may occur to the TECoolTM .
3. It is better to add a copper sheet metal with 1 mm thickness and same size of TECoolTM between the cold side of TECoolTM and CPU.
4. Clean surface thoroughly, making sure there are no chips, dirt or any foreign substances that may affect bonding. Coat the contacting sides, with thermally conductive grease or glue.
5. The power of computer chassis should be 400 W and up, otherwise an external power supply should be used to drive TECoolTM.
FAQ
Q: How can I find out the cold side or hot
side of TECoolTM
?
A: Usually, the side attached black and
red wires is hot side of TECoolTM
. You can apply 1 ~ 2VDC to
TECoolTM
and feel temperature on each side to find
out the cold or hot side of TECoolTM
.
